VOLUNTEERS HONOURED

During the year 2010-11, NSS unit involved in another charity service. That was the distribution of food to the hospital admitted patients in the PHC Omanoor .it was a joint venture with social organisation in Edavannappara(aswasam)who provide financial support. NSS volunteers, in spite of the busy schedule of academics, regularly attended in this programme and served all patients providing necessary man power.30  volunteers were allotted to distribute the food (porridge),they themselves plan this in a rotation wise as 3 members per day so that even a single day,it is not blocked. Volunteers distributed the food at 8:30 on every day. During all morning less than 50 people has been availing this opportunity. As it is functioning smoothly and effectively, more people are coming forward with helping hands which is also becoming a symbol of credibility of the organisers. It becomes a relief to the patients who coming from poor socio-economic backgrounds.As part of this programme,NSS volunteers was honoured on 03/06/2011,1.30pm in a special function and it inaugurated by Smt.Valsalakumari,Principal GVHSS Omanoor
